So, today we completed our first province!! So long British Columbia and all your mountains! We started off today in Golden BC and in true BC fashion it started off with some steep inclines with the topping of a head wind, just to make it that much harder. We pushed through the mountains and finally found ourselves on the downhill into Canmore, Alberta. We left extra early this morning (6am) because we wanted to get into Canmore with plenty of time to enjoy our accomodations and dinner plans. Where did we stay you ask... We were fortunate enough to have BellStar Resorts provide us suites within the Solara Resort. Pulling up to the resort we knew that we were in for something special. Once we opened the door to the room are jaws dropped to see a full kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms, two baths, 3 fireplaces and two flat screen tvs!! Absolutely stunning!! A place where we all want to stay and definitely would recommend to anyone who is visiting Canmore Alberta!! Thanks go out to Bellstar Resorts!
This wasnt the end to this great day... after cleaning up my good friends JP and Tara Thibodeau arranged an evening at the Cornerstone Theatre!! We were treated to an amazing show with a great cast and more food than we could handle! Another must see if you visit this area! The cast was wonderful and supportive of our cause making an announcement during the show about our tour. The crowd gave us a round of applause and cheers of encouragement. It was a memorable evening!
With a full stomach and smiles on our faces we walked back to our rooms where I sit writing this blog. Tomorrow we are looking at a 100km ride into Calgary to our first real "rest" day! Which means a great sleep in and our legs thanking us!
